Sago and Nipah Development Board (SNDB) organized the Workshop for Preparation of SNDB Sago Log Grading  Mechanism and Manual,  held over four days from 8 to 11 January 2026, in order to establish a Technical Working Group (TWG). The Technical Working Group (TWG) will be entrusted to develop standardized procedures and a comprehensive manual for sago log grading, incorporating inputs and consensus from key industry stakeholders.
 
The workshop was attended by 33 participants from SNDB, CRAUN Research, sago smallholders association, Koperasi Mas Balau Berhad, Sarawak Sago Manufacturers Association (SSMA), and sago industry operators. The closing ceremony was officiated by the Acting Permanent Secretary of M-FICORD, Yang Berusaha Tuan Sayed Ismail Nasiruddin bin Dato’ Sri Wan Hashim, who emphasized the importance of transparent and fair grading and pricing mechanisms in line with PCDS 2030, in order to strengthen the value chain and ensure the sustainability of the sago industry in Sarawak.
