The Sago Smallholder Capacity Building Programme 2026 is one of the initiatives undertaken by the Sago and Nipah Development Board (SNDB) to empower smallholders through the enhancement of knowledge, skills, and exposure related to the development of the sago industry, particularly in support of the initiatives under the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK-13).
This programme aims to broaden the perspectives of smallholders in order to increase productivity and crop yields, adopt more systematic management practices, and explore new technologies, innovations, and opportunities in efforts to modernise the sago industry.
Our highest appreciation and sincere gratitude go to all participating sago smallholders for their commitment and participation. Appreciation is also extended to the speakers, panel members, moderator, and strategic partners from government agencies for their valuable sharing of expertise, knowledge, and cooperation in making this programme a success.
May this strategic collaboration continue to be strengthened, and may the knowledge gained be translated into practices that create a positive impact on smallholders. It is hoped that these collective efforts will lead the Sarawak sago industry towards becoming more productive, modern, innovative, and competitive.
Also present at the closing ceremony were YB Encik Abdul Yakub bin Haji Arbi, who officiated the closing ceremony, SNDB General Manager Tuan Haji Zaidell, as well as representatives from the Mukah Resident Office, MFICORD, and the Dalat District Office.
